Forgetting to remember

I was supposed to do something today... what might it be? Oh, right! I was supposed to write a blog post! And good heavens, what is this under my fingers? Could it be? I do believe it is! It's a blog post! Yes, I'm in a silly mood again. Were you expecting anything else from me, O readers? Not if you know me, which many of you do.
I have been forgetting to remember a great many things lately. Fortunately, none of them are dangerous to life or limb, either my own, the roommate's, or the canines'. Some of them are irksome, such as forgetting to remember to wash the massive pile o' dishes or rescue the laundry from the dryer, but they all get done eventually.
This lovely blog is very high up on the "forget to remember" list, as is signing in to get my free year's subscription to Scribd (a thanks-gift for Smashwords authors, which is nice, but needs to be claimed by tomorrow), and, well, writing in general. Life as a whole has taken priority, and the inner life has gone by the wayside a bit.
For this, O readers, I apologize. Do you have a right to expect a certain amount of writing from me? Perhaps. I have not signed contracts, nor have I made promises, except that I will finish the projects on which I've embarked. But I feel disappointed in myself when I make you wait, and wait, and wait, with no real end in sight.
I wish that I had promises to make today. Unfortunately I do not. So this blog shall end as it began, in a rather silly and random spirit. I shall update when I am able. My writing is not dead, only sleeping. Now let's hope it isn't stuck in a rose-covered castle for a hundred years. Thanks, as always, and perhaps better news on Thursday!

That final image makes me think of Jasper Fforde's Well of Lost Plots concept. Perhaps the writing just needs a fictioneer to go in and trim the hedges now and then. ;-)
