Blogging from bed... sort of

So I'm still figuring out what Dragon (my speech recognition software) can and can't do, especially when it comes to web-based forms. Apparently the magical dictation box, which is supposed to let me dictate anywhere I am, doesn't work on little things like blog titles. Oh well.

So that's the "sort of" of the title, because I had to type that part by hand. I am now, however, lounging on my bed in the comfort of my enormous squishy red pillow, scratching a passing cat, and preparing to tell you all things you probably don't want to hear.

Yes, I do know that the Dangerverse has been brought to quite a cliffhanger moment. I promise that I did not plan my life to have a whole lot of bad things happen right now on purpose. That's simply how it fell out, and I apologize that you, my lovely readers, are caught in the middle of that.

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about… well, the Dangerverse is kind of hard to explain, especially from scratch and in a blog post. Suffice it to say that it is a very, very alternate universe of Harry Potter, focused on a strong family and something of an inversion of the classic heroic journey.

For those of you who do follow the Dangerverse, probably the vast majority of readers, I will say only that I have not forgotten nor am I abandoning Surpassing Danger. Personal troubles, both the physical and the emotional type, have made it hard to concentrate on any kind of writing, but it will proceed as soon as I am able.

Now then, who wants a nice spoiler? Or… well, not really a spoiler, but a piece of Dangerverse trivia which might, if you're very clever and good at putting pieces together, give you a few hints about the future of the story. One of my seminal moments was the first moment that you see Professor Lupin awake in book 3…

Nicely confusing, no? Go get your copy of PoA and look it up. You won't be sorry.

That's all for now, except to say that if you haven't visited the "Other Works" page here on the website recently, I suggest you go. There's something new hidden behind the Be Careful book cover…
